Workshops – part one

Princip Learning by doing realizujemo kroz tematske projekte u okviru brojnih autorskih radionica.

Eureka

I n the maturation process a child encounters with interesting phenomena that stimulate their imagination and raise many questions. This workshop provides the children to discover cause-effect relations between the things and occurrences that surround them.

On the workshop the children will be experimenting with: water, air, heat, light, sound, electricity, motion, body inertia, forces of action and reaction, gravity, liquids, electric energy, magnet force, etc..

The workshops are adapted to children of all ages and are completely subordinate to their desires and interests.

Being Smart

Mogu li deca da filozofiraju?

E arly pedagogues, like Jean Piaget, considered the children up to 11-12 years are not capable for critical opinion, i.e. they cannot thing about thinking. Ah! Probably the children of that time were not encouraged to think. By the end of the 60’s on Montclair University, the USA, started the programme Philosophy for children initiated by Matthew Lipman who was influenced by John Dewey’s philosophy and Lev Vygotsky’s psychology. The aim of the programme is encouraging and improving the thinking skills of children.

We adjusted this programme to our needs and our children. The goal of the workshop is not teaching children to philosophy, but a philosophical dialogue becomes a teaching and learning method that boosts the development of communication and social skills, critical and creative thinking.

Activities in the programme mainly have the form of structured and disciplined dialogue about traditional philosophical notions that are at the same time the key notions for our everyday life; tolerance, friendship, truth, justice, happiness, knowledge, love, etc.

In the process through which the children are going, the starting point is asking questions in order to understand better the issues and notions we deal with.

Communication in the programme has its own moral culture that leads to cultivating abilities and virtues.

Getting dirty workshop

T his workshop is our painting and sculptural atelier.

Children have natural urge for getting soiled. We are offering them the possibility to do so in a creative way.

By creating a relaxing, creative and working atmosphere we encourage liberation of a child’s artistic expression. We encourage freedom and inventiveness in the children creative development.

Children are introduced to a wide range of design materials: plaster, clay, organic waste, textiles, foil, wire, sand, glass, and we also use colors.

The communication that is realized in this program has its own moral culture, which leads to the cultivation of abilities and virtues.

Chatter box

T he origin and development of the speech depend on bio-genetic and social factors. By miming, practicing, stimulating a child adopts basic language elements, depending on its physical and psychological abilities and needs. Speech adopting is a natural speech-language development process and it is spontaneous, influenced by speech-language environment.

Speech development is very important for creating a notion about oneself, for adopting the behavior rules and for creating the moral judgments.

A child masters different use of speech through active language practice in everyday life situations, spontaneously overpowers the complex language elements (voices, meaning, syntax) and learns what for and how to use the language.

Being in contact with others it develops COMMUNICATION (social) speech function. In order to develop a child’s communication flexibility (explicit speech – speech adjusted to an interlocutor and the communication situation) it is essential to practice all the speech functions, especially those that develop in contact with others.

Chatter box is a speech-drama workshop that stimulates the right articulation and distinction of speech of children up to 3 years. We also promote enrichment of their vocabulary and grammatically correct pronunciation. More complex speech-drama workshops are created for children between 3-7 years of age, starting with immediate child experience and current interests.

Besides the above mentioned, the targets of the Chatter Box are these:

  • Boosting creativity, conscious and unconscious creativity
  • Getting experience in well-tailored, meaningful and correct communication
  • Developing and fostering listening skills
  • Podsticanje dramske aktivnosti dece

Učimo običaje drugih naroda, geografske zanimljivosti, biljni i životinjski svet.

Takoreći, mi putujemo u te daleke zemlje, tamo provodemo neko vreme i aktivno učestvujemo u njihovom životu. Pravimo njihove nacionalne instrumente, maske, igračke, pripremamo njihovu nacionalnu hranu, slušamo njihovu muziku i tako to. Svake druge nedelje smo u drugoj zemlji.
